Autograph Letter Signed to Peter Phillips, 1 page 8vo with integral address-leaf and penny-red stamp, Southport, 22 September 1852. Thanking Phillips's committee for the honour they have done him, but regretting that a prior engagement prevents his attendance at their meeting. The address-leaf lightly glued to the letter.
