Complying with the request of a Mr D. Meade, a young man who has requested his autograph, expressing the hope that he will treasure it as a mark of Rossini's good will and wishing him a happy life ('... A votre âge où tous les souvenirs sont doux et ineffables je suis assuré que vous conserverez celui ci avec plaisir comme temoignage de ma sympathie. ...').
