HOGG, James (1790-1876). Publisher. Son of The Ettrick Shepherd.
Autograph Letter Signed to Asbury, 1 page 8vo, Edinburgh, 23 March 1849. Apologising for the difficult Asbury encountered in obtaining copies of The Instructor, explaining that it was owing to the increase in demand and assuring him that sufficient copies have now been sent to the London agent.

Hogg's Weekly Instructor, a non-sectarian periodical, first appeared in 1845, changing its name to The Instructor in 1849 and again to The Titan at a later date.
