STOCK SELECTION We provide here on the website a representative selection from our stock files. Please enquire if the name you are seeking is not to be found, as we have a very large quantity of further material and many thousands of items of lesser-known figures. We should be very happy to respond directly to any request for specific names or subjects. GENERAL INFORMATION All material is guaranteed genuine, and any item may be returned within fourteen days of receipt under the terms of the 'Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013'. We shall provide a cancellation form with all orders. ABBREVIATIONS A - autograph, T - typewritten, L - letter, D - document, N - note, Ms - manuscript, S - signed, n.p. - no place, n.d. - no date, n.y. - no year. Hence ALS (autograph letter signed) - entirely in the hand of the writer; LS - text in another hand, but signed by the writer; TLS - typewritten but signed by the writer. Most of these abbreviations are expanded in our descriptions. SIZES The abbreviations (folio, 4to, 8vo, etc.) derive historically from the number of times a large single sheet of paper is folded to produce the size of page required. The following are representative examples: folio [1600], 306 x 200 mm (12 x 8 inches); 4to [1800], 234 x 185 mm (9¼ x 7¼ inches); 8vo, 179 x 113 mm (7 x 4½ inches). PAYMENT & TERMS All bills are payable on receipt, and a small charge for postage and insurance will normally be added to all orders, usually £5 (GBP) inland and £10 overseas. Bills may be paid through our own secure ordering system by credit card. Alternatively we accept personal cheques (in sterling only), bank / wire transfers, and payments made through PayPal. Please contact us first to establish that the material is available and the obtain the final price. We handle all arrangements with regard to export licensing, and within the EU any VAT is usually included in the stated price. VAT is not applicable beyond the EU. |
