MacDONALD, James Ramsay (1866-1937). Prime Minister 1924 and 1929-1935.
Autograph Letter Signed with no superscript, 1 page 4to on writing paper of the Daily Herald Editorial Office, undated (pin holes in upper left hand margin, wrinkled). Announcing the re-launching of the Daily Herald, now in a position to 'meet its competitors in the newspaper world on equal terms, & to supply the features & services which they provide'.
'...I hope that all supporters of Labour, and all those, whatever their views, who wish to have the Labour case put fairly before them day by day, will buy it and read it.'
 The Daily Herald was launched on 25 January 1911 and became the first newspaper to sell two million copies. On the 15th of September 1964, it became The Sun.
 This letter is possibly an endorsement for publication in the paper.
