SHAW, George Bernard (1856-1950). Playwright.
Autograph Letter Signed ('G.B.S.') to Gunn Gwennet, on a postcard (somewhat bent and soiled), with his London and Welwyn addresses (postmarked Harpenden), 24 November 1949. Complaining about the charges for reproduction ('quite outrageous'), suggesting that he call them to the attention of the Society of Authors, and explaining that Gwennet has statutory rights to quote Methuselah.
Shaw further remarks that I am afraid the S[ociety]. of A[uthors]. journal has vanished in the sale of my effects at Whitehall Court. A pencilled note on the front of the card, presumably by Gwennet, notes that he has replied 'with Journal'.
