RUSKIN, John (1819-1900). Author, artist & social reformer.
Fine Autograph Letter Signed to Samuel Palmer, 1 page 4to with integral address-leaf and red wax seal in a mount with a pen and pencil drawing, no place, 'Wednesday' no date. Sending a drawing of an Alpine Rose with an explanation of its growing habits, and threatening to disturb you in your nest the first time I get into town.
'... The botanical structure of the plant is in concentric clusters of leaves, so [a second ink drawing interrupts the text] - at intervals on the stalk, but it always gets broken & blown about as in the outline. ...'
