KNOX, Robert (1791-1862). Anatomist & ethnologist. Autograph Letter Signed to an unnamed colleague ('My dear sir'), 4 pages 8vo, Edin[burgh], 'Monday 9 Oct' no year. Explaining that he has put his correspondent's point to a 'most excellent analytic Chemist, Dr Wilson' whom, he hopes, is now in communication, and commenting bitterly on the case of the unfortunate Emma. '... I question her good sense and suspect her to be deficient in gentleness and lady like feeling which is a terrible deficiency in any woman. I fancy however that Mr P. himself has been the main cause of giving an air of absurdity to the whole business. ... But I will tell you what I suspect - the Scotts and Parks have a distant relative here in Town my personal and bitter Enemy - and so it occurs to me that they have been listening to him instead of judging for themselves. ...'
