Unless otherwise indicated the image is of the most significant part of the object

TENNYSON, Alfred, Lord (1809-1892). Poet Laureate.
Autograph Letter Signed to William B??tham in Frith Street, Soho Square, 1 page ca 3½ x 4 inches trimmed and laid down with the address-panel, no date. Evidently to an artist, but we have been unable to identify him.
'I have so bad a headache this morning, that I cannot sit to you.
We dine at five & shall be happy to see you.'
The letter is evidently unpublished and is not in The Letters edited by Shannon and Lang. The Frith Street address (unless re-numbered) had previously been home to William Hazlitt.
[No: 20582]
