Augustus John on beauty in art

JOHN, Augustus (1878-1961). Artist.
Autograph manuscript entitled 'Fragment of an Autobiography VII', 1 page 4to, signed at the foot. In a marbled-board folder. Evidently a fair copy written and signed late in life of the opening of a chapter from his first volume of autobiography 'Chiaroscuro' (1952). Complete in itself the piece encapsulates John's vision of beauty in the visual arts.
