NESSELRODE, Count Karl Robert (1780-1862). Russian statesman. Four Autograph Letters Signed in French (one incomplete, dust stains on one), to Loftus and 'My Lord' (?Strangford), 5½ pages 4to and 8vo, St Petersburg and Peterhoff, 1828 and Correspondence to the English diplomats Lord Strangford (added in pencil in another hand) and Loftus, on business and personal matters, asking Loftus to pass on a box of personal belongings to Lord Granville, enclosing a gift from the Emperor to Lord Strangford at the end of his service in St Petersburg, arranging for him to be presented to His Majesty, and apologising that an attack of gout will prevent him from accepting an invitation (letter incomplete).
