HAYDON, Benjamin Robert (1786-1846). Historical painter.
Autograph Letter Signed to Benjamin West (1738-1820, historical painter), 1 page 8vo (some slight stains), 'Saturday', no year. Offering to present him with a cast of 'my Raphael head'.
Haydon was an ardent admirer of Raphael, and although he did not disguise his contempt for Benjamin West in his Diary it is not altogether surprising to find him ingratiating himself with the President of the Royal Academy.
