Autograph Letter Signed to an unnamed correspondent ('Madam'), 1 page 8vo (one very slight stain), Rochetts, 23 May 1821. Regretfully and elaborately declining to use his patronage.
'I do assure you that nothing would give me greater pleasure than contributing in the smallest degree to the promotion of your son; with whose Grandfather I was shipmate nearly seventy years ago; & no man esteem'd him more highly than I did. ...'
