PALMERSTON, Henry Temple, Viscount (1784-1865). Prime Minister 1855-1858 and 1859-1865.
Autograph Letter Signed to W[illiam] C[harles] Ross, 1 page 8vo (laid down on the remains of an album leaf), Stan[hope] Street, 13 December 1836. Agreeing to a sitting the following Thursday.
(Sir) William Charles Ross (1794-1860) was a distinguished and much-patronised miniature-painter. The portrait of Palmerston by Ross, if indeed such was executed, is not recorded among the known likenesses in Oxford DNB.
