PUCCINI, Giacomo (1858-1924). Italian composer. Autograph Letter Signed (initials) in red ink, to Claudio Clausetti in Naples (but forwarded to Milan), 1 page 8vo, with address on the verso, Torre del Lago, 4 August 1908. Proposing to exchange his splendid new Steinway upright with three pedals, bought only three months ago, for a large Ritmüller. He needs it by August, when he will return from Abetone. With a translation. '... the Ritmüller must be here if you are concerned about my working ...' Clausetti was at this time the Naples agent for Ricordi, Puccini's publishers; he became a close friend and supporter of Puccini. [No: 21790]
