PUCCINI, Giacomo (1858-1924). Italian composer.
Autograph Letter Signed (initials) on a postcard reproduction photograph of the composer, to Claudio Clausetti in Milan, Viarettio, 22 November 1917. After being unwell for a few days he is now himself again. He will send the score of S[uor] A[ngelica] via Forzano [the librettist]. 'Here we live in anxious suspense for the evening bulletin.' With a translation.
Suor Angelica is the middle one-act opera of Puccini's Trittico, first performed the following year on 4 December at the Metropolitan, New York. Clausetti was at this time the Naples agent for Ricordi, Puccini's publishers; he became a close friend and supporter of Puccini.
