Autograph Letter (third person), 3 pages 8vo (a few words enhanced in ink on the second page, traces of mounting on the blank), Deene [Park], 15 September 1856. Giving his style and title, and adding that 'The Earl of Cardigan is uncertain whether the above details will be of any use'. With an engraved portrait of Cardigan.
'James Thomas Earl of Cardigan. A Major General in the Army. Inspector General of Cavalry - & Knight Commander of the Bath - also a Member of the Legion d'honneur of France - and in possession of four clasps for Service in the Crimea. ...'
