ROSSETTI, William Michael (1829-1919). Man of letters & art critic. Autograph Letter Signed to [Mary] Carmichael, 3 pages 8vo, 5 Endsleigh Gardens, 6 January 1889. Insisting that 'I am a half-hermit when Lucy is in London, & a whole hermit when she is away', but nonetheless setting a time to receive Mr Balestier. '... My news from Pau continues good: the only present inconvenience being that Olive has a swelling in a gland of the throat. This is persistent, having begun before I reached Pau on 9 Decr., but it doesn't seem to be of serious consequence. I remained there till 26 Decr. having, almost every day, splendid sunshining weather. ... I hardly suppose that Lucy will be back in London before the middle of April or so. ...'
