Autograph Letter Signed in English ('Adelina de Caux') to Madame Schilizzi, 3 pages 8vo on black-edged paper with envelope, (remains of mounting on reverse), 'Saturday morning', no date. Thanking her for sympathy, explaining that it would be impossible to find her tickets for that evening, and sending a portrait.

'... I shall be deprived of the extreme pleasure of seeing you in the stalls. However, I hope to see you soon again, either in Paris or else positively, I shall call on you in London. I enclose you my portrait which I promised, and hope you will find it ressemblant ...'

Adelina Patti was at this time married to her first husband, Henri de Roger de Cahusac, marquis de Caux.
