CUI, César Antonovich (1835-1918). Russian composer.
Fine Autograph Letter Signed in French to his publisher, Heugel, 3 pages small 4to, 25 November no year (ca 1909). With a translation. Thanking Heugel for the paragraph he had published in his publication the Menestrel, and volunteering further information.
'... If you want to complete the list of my works you can add - 4 operas: Un festin pendant la peste [1901], Le Paladin de Neige [1905], Mateo Falcone [1907], and La fille du Capitaine [1909], which I have just finished; then, for orchestra, 4 Suites, 3 Scherzos, a Tarantelle, a Valse, a Marche Solenelle; then, for strings, 2 Quartets, 3 pieces for the two pianos, 90 pieces for solo piano, 60 for violin, 2 for cello, 26 a capella choruses and 300 songs! Ouff!!
'... music paper is not expensive and with a single pencil one can write a whole opera.'
