SHEPARD, Ernest Howard (1879-1976). Artist and book illustrator.
Autograph Letter Signed to Keith Clarke, 1 page 8vo, Woodmancote, Lodsworth, Petworth, 24 January [1974]. Regretting that he cannot assist Clarke with his book because he had only met [Robert] Anning Bell once ('and that was years ago when I was a young man').
'... I am 95 years old and my memory is failing. ...'
Shepard refers to Anning Bell (1863-1933), the artist and designer.
