Autograph Letter Signed to his lifelong friend Henry [Holiday], 4 pages 8vo (the last two written as a single 4to page, 127 Church Street, Chelsea, 16 January 1914.
Praising his book on an initial reading before publication, particularly the preface ('... I like your preface enormously, being quite in sympathy with all parties that agree with the general sketch of policy of the Nazarene Party, in the Borough of Galilee - Only I want people to go on constructing ironclads until their only sensitive organ, the pocket, feels it ...'), and enumerating the three types of people who will be grateful for the book.
