Autograph Letter Signed to Mr Harley in Doncaster, 1 page 4to with address-leaf ('Favored by Mr Whitwell'), Fulham, 20 October no year (wm. 1801). Apologising for his delay in writing and for his failure in Edinburgh.
'... I fulfilled my promise to you on my arrival in Edinburgh, and had hopes of success, but without entering into particulars can only briefly say that I could not procure the piece in time to forward to you. However I will perseveer untill I procure it; and if it is to be had I will send it to you at Hull.'
