OUSELEY, Sir Frederick Arthur Gore (1825-1889). Musician.
Autograph Letter Signed to the Dean [of Christ Church, Oxford], 4 pages 8vo (some dust-staining), Tenbury, 8 February 1870. Discussing his forthcoming book (presumably The Sacred Compositions of Orlando Gibbons (1873).

Ouseley promises that the anthems in the book will become great favourites, and thanks the Chapter for their support, which will enable him to print a prospectus with the names of subscribers.
'... I have recently found an old organ-book of about Gibbons' date which supplies many missing elements in my work - a most fortunate thing, as regards completeness - but inasmuch as it makes the book larger, it increases my expenses proportionably, & therefore also enhances the need of subscribers.'
