SHAW, George Bernard (1856-1950). Playwright.
Typically curmudgeonly Autograph Letter Signed ('GBS') to W.G. Woodruffe on a postcard printed with his personal message, postmarked April 1947 (soiled, bent in the middle). Shaw's message reminds his correspondent that he is a journalist himself and, therefore does not give interviews for publication. The single word 'agreed' was evidently returned by Woodruff. Shaw still refuses to see him.
'No, not agreed. No visits, no interviews. ... You have my books. I have nothing to add to them, certainly not a complete knowledge of life. Do you suppose anyone possesses that.'
