MACAULAY, Thomas Babington, 1st Baron (1800-1859). Historian.
Autograph Letter Signed to an unnamed correspondent ('Gentlemen'), 1 page 8vo with note of receipt on the back, Holly Lodge, 5 April 1859. Insisting that his house is not available to be let ('nor can I guess how the report which you mention can have originated').
Macaulay bought Holly Lodge, Campden Hill, Kensington, in 1856 and died there three years later, only months after this letter was written.
