NASH, John (1752-1835). Architect.
Autograph Letter Signed to an unnamed correspondent, 1 page 4to, Pavillion, Brighton, 30 October 1819. Attempting to secure the post of managing the brewery at Greenwich Hospital.
'... he is a millwright as well as a Brewer & which I apprehend will be a very desireable additional qualification in a business which has somewhat to do with mills, pumps and other machinery. ...'
A note on the back indicates that the post had been filled by Lord Melville before the letter was received.
Nash was at this time working on the Royal Pavillion, then the Marine Pavilion, in Brighton, which he began in 1815 and completed in 1822.
