PUCCINI, Giacomo (1858-1924). Italian opera-composer. Fine three-quarter length photograph, signed and inscribed, 250 x190 mm. (ca 9½ x 7½ inches) plus outer mount, dated 19 October 1904. Platinum print by The Bertieri Platynotipe Studio of Turin, with the photographer's blind-stamped arms on the lower mount. A particularly good picture in perfect condition, depicting the composer in three-piece suit, overcoat and characteristic bowler hat, inscribed to George Williams. Puccini was in London at this time for a revival of Manon Lescaut which was to open on 17 October starring Enrico Caruso. [No: 25237] The image links to a larger or more detailed version.
