GEORGE IV (1762-1830). King of Great Britain and Ireland and king of Hanover.
Elaborately printed and engraved pass for the coronation celebrations of 1821, with embossed border and wide margins, unnumbered. This pass, printed in blue, is for the celebrations in Westminster Abbey itself, and differs from the invitation for Westminster Hall afterwards, which was printed in red and has different border.
The name 'Dobbs' stamped in the border (bottom left) refers to H. Dobbs, whose firm, founded in 1803, pioneered the use of decorative blind stamping.
Slight traces of mounting to the corners of the reverse.
