Autograph Letter Signed ('Alexander Fleming') to [A. Brockhurst] ('Dear Sir'), 1 page small 4to on blue writing-paper of the Connemara Hotel, Madras, 26 February 1953.
Giving his consent for the inclusion of his signature among those on a glass tankard which it is proposed to present to the Duke of Edinburgh, and sending a specimen of his signature [no long included].
'... I am interested because I am Rector of Edinburgh Univ[ersit]y of which he is Chancellor.
 'I should be glad if you would send me one of the tankards. I shall be home in London on April 1st.'
