PATTI, Adelina (1843-1919). Operatic soprano.
A small collection including an Autograph Letter Signed ('Adelina Patti'), 2 pages 16mo, sending tickets for th following night, 4 July no year.
Together with two cabinet photographs, one of Patti at almost full length resting against a balustrade, faintly inscribed to Adel[e] Myers (signs of former mounting at the edges and the reverse; the other of Ernesto Nicolini, her husband, head and shoulders, clearly inscribed and signed to the same; and the announcment of the marriage of Patti and Nicolini in Swansea on 10 June 1886, printed in silver and sent from Craig-y-nos Castle, the home in the Swansea valley where she had built an elaborate and beautiful theatre for her own use, with the original silver-edged envelope.
The letter has on the reverse another letter, signed ?'Lara' in faint pencil, giving her excuses for the evening.
