ROGERS, Samuel (1763-1855). Poet.
Autogaph poem Signed, 1 page 8vo (oblong), 8 February 1827. Four lines from his famous poem Jacqueline, published in 1814.

'Oh! She was good as she was fair,
None - none on earth above her!
As pure in thought as angels are:
To know her was to love her.'

Apparently also signed at the foot by William Lisle Bowles (1762-1850, poet and antiquary) with the date 20 June 1834..
