Letter Signed (as usual dictated) to 'My dear ?Howitt', 2 pages 8vo with blank leaf, 10 Downing Street, 3 November 1896. Thanking him for Dr Gower's pamphlet and commenting on it.
'... The Pathology - both of the Sight and Hearing - is capable undoubtedly of throwing the greatest light both on the physiology and psychology of Sensation, and, when a competent authority like Dr. Gowers [sic] takes it up from the medical side, very valuable results are likely to be attained.'
The Gower's test to determine weaknesses in gait is still in use.
