LAWRENCE, T.E. (1888-1935). 'Lawrence of Arabia'.
Autograph Letter Signed ('T.E. Shaw' and headed from '338171 A/c Shaw at R.A.F. Mount Batten, Plymouth') to [Bertram] Thomas, 1 page 4to with envelope, 10 June 1931. Thanking Thomas for his answer to Lawrence's own, and telling Thomas that he was planning a visit to London later in the month and hoping to be able to meet him.

'... You should not have bothered to answer my ordinary letter of congratulation upon your exploring feat: and I am sorry to have apparently ignorned replying for so long: but I was sent to Hythe on detachment for two months, tuning and testing some new types of motor boats for the R.A.F. ...

'... I come up to London only two or three times a year. ... I shall be in uniform, and at the Union Jack Club, but with only three people to see. ...'
