Autograph Letter Signed [to Dutton], 2 pages 12mo (former mounting strip adhering to the margin on the reverse of the letter), The Residence, Chester, 3 July 1871. Accepting a invitation to view the Clarence Reformatory ship.

The Clarence Reformatory School Ship for Boys was established in 1864 housed in a war-ship which was converted to a reformatory for Catholic boys. In 1884 it was the victim of an arson attack by its immates which completely destroyed it.
