SAUNDERS, Thomas Bailey (1860-1928). Author; translator of Schopenhauer & Harnack.
Autograph Letter Signed to Silvanus Thompson (1851-1916, professor of physics), 2 pages 8vo, Fern Lodge, Eastbourne, 21 September 1909. Thanking Thompson for a catalogue, commiserating with him on missing an appointment (the professorship of physics at the Finsbury College of the City and Guilds of London Technical Institute, to succeed William Ayrton).

'... Kelvin, I suppose, is near the day of publication. How I envy you! to have got your ship into harbour so soon is wonderful and here I am still floundering through rough seas very slowly, and with gales of trouble blowing on me from every quarter. ...'

Saunders refers to Thompson's biography of the mathematician and physicist, William Thomson, Baron Kelvin.
