SAYERS, Dorothy L. (1893-1957). Writer of detective fiction.
Typewritten Letter Signed to E.H. Rasdall, 1 page 8vo (oblong) with envelope, 24 Newland Street, Witham, Essex, 18 April 1946 Thanking him for a plot suggestion, saying that she is not currently writing detective stories, and mentioning that his suggestion has been used already by Russell Thorndike in another 'rather fantastic' detective novel.

Sayers stopped writing mystery fiction in the mid-1930s and turned her hand to theatre plays and theological essays. Some time in the early 1940s, she began work on the verse translation of Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy, which is likely to be the 'other business on hand' she refers to.
