KITCHENER, Horatio Herbert, 1st Earl (1850-1916). Field Marshal.
Autograph Letter Signed ('Kitchener') to Lord Glenesk, 2 pages 8vo with a postscript ('K') on the third side, with original envelope, 17 Belgrave Square, 15 July 1902. Explaining that he had failed to speak to the duke of Cambridge ('there were 54 at dinner and the Duke only appeared for a very short time'), and asking which of them should go to him at Gloucester House.

The postscript indicates that Colonel Fitzgeorge (son of the duke of Cambridge) had indicated that Friday afternoon would be suitable.

Algernon Borthwick, Baron Glenesk (1830-1908) was the proprietor and long-time editor of the Morning Post.
