Housman') to D[avid] C[uthbert] L[yall] Holland, 2 pages 8vo with envelope (by hand), Trinity College [Cambridge], 25 November 1835. Answering an invitation from an undergraduate to meet his father. '... my health is feeble and I am only just released from a Nursing Home, and as on Thursday I am in a measure bound to attend the Audit Feast I am afraid I ought not to come out ...' David Holland (1915-2007, later librarian of the House of Commons) was the son of Michael James Holland (1870-1956), among whose many distinctions was that of being the first European to establish the exact location of the copper mines in Katanga.
