DIBDIN, Thomas John (1771-1841). Actor and dramatist. Two Autograph Letters Signed to his friend and fellow-actor John Bannister, with a poem addressed to Bannister in his wife's hand introducing one letter, in all 6 pages 8vo. Waterloo Bridge Road and 'S.W. on the Stage', no date & 9 December 1835. Saying that a card will be sent with the hope that he will attend ('our Theatre is really beautiful') and a begging letter accompanying the poem. 'The only apologies I can offer for the above Intrusion are that I have no income, that my Wife is in momentary expectations of her third accouchment, that my two youngest children are scarcely yet out of the Scarlet fever, that I have lately had an Attack of Paralysis, am writing original Dramas all Night for the Chance of remuneration ...
