Autograph Letter Signed to an unnamed correspondent about an invitation to lecture and illuminated addresses, 2 pages 8vo, Ashmansworth, 19 September 1952.
'I've never written out an illuminated address in my life and my writing is bad [sic]. I've never learnt to handle a pen properly. ... Edward Johnston did one or two beauties didn't he? The right person to give this lecture is a learned member of the society of scribes and illuminators?'
